In the framework of this workshop with Jonathan Martens, we created a monolithic tabiyya counter for the Mihacale museum in Gordoncillo, and tried out various building techniques using based on the use of raw earth.

Tapial [Tabiyya] refers to an ancestral casing technique using a material - earth - found directly on the construction site. We have unlearned to build with earth, now it's time to reconnect with this sustainable and so versatile material.
